Butterfly Note Holder

Hello Again Friends!
Welcome back to my Blog and thank you for stopping by.
Today i would like to share with you my note holder made from mdf.

You will need;

-   Mdf butterfly shape
-   White Gesso
-   Pentart rose antique paste
-   Green chalk paint
-   Pink chalk paint
-   Viva decor crackle varnish
-   13 Arts Gel Medium (this will dry clear)

Other items used;

-   Heat gun
   -   Embellisments of your choice (pearls,buttons,lace,etc)
-   Small wooden peg
-   Flowers
-   Paint brush
-   Spatula.

Heres how i made it.

Paint the butterfly with a coat of Gesso, dry off with heat gun.

Paint again with a thin layer of pink chalk paint then dry off again.

Using crackle varnish randomly paint over the butterfly, do not paint completely just use random brush strokes, leave to dry or use heat gun.

Mix a small amount of Gesso paint with water (just to thin it down slightly) paint it across the butterfly, dry with heat gun and watch the crackles appear like magic!.

Sponge green chalk paint around the edges dry off again.

 Use your Index finger to take a small amount of antique paste from the jar ( I love the smell of Pentart antique pastes they smell of orange oil.) add this around the edges and buff with a cloth when dry.

Glue the small wooden peg to one of the wings making sure that you are still able to open and close it, this is where you will hold your notes.

Take a loop of Gingham ribbon and glue in the centre using hot glue.

Glue lace, ribbons and embellishments as shown using the Gel medium (use the spatula to apply the glue) leave to dry.

Now you can add more antique paste to the embellishmaent if you wish.

I hope you enjoy my project!

See you soon!
